      Cincinnati

      If I weren't here
      I'd be in Cincinnati.
      I'd be making love
      to Green Eyed Patti.

I don't know how much more
of this old steel mill life I'll take.
I may not last another lonely day
      here by the lake.

      The money is great,
the weather's about the worst I've ever seen,
and I don't know a single gal up here
      who's eyes are green.

      Blast Furnace running red hot
molten iron down through the trough,
      and I can't wait 'till three o'clock
rolls 'round and I get off.

      I think I'll take that pick-up-truck
      back home where I belong.
Sit on the porch with my guitar
and just sing myself a song.

      I think I'll take that pick-up-truck
      back home to Cincinnati,
and sit on the porch the rest of my life
with my sweet Green Eyed Patti.

      Circles

      Everybody's holding hands
      so they won't loose.
      You can't find it
      in the circles,
      don't they know
      you gotta choose?

      Crashing Down

      I can't speed up.
      I can't slow down.
      I can't back up,
      or turn around.

      The dice are tossed.
      The cards are drawn.
      I played the game;
      became your pawn.

      I can't give up.
      I can't keep on.
      I can't speak up,
      you turn me down.

      I thought your love
      would last for time.
      I thought your love
      was always mine.

      You flew me up
      above the ground.
      You flew away.
      I'm crashing down.

Thank you for keeping my thoughts alive.

An astute writer once advised all readers: "If you are reading and come upon a word which you do not know the meaning of, immediately, go to the dictionary and find out. Else you might well miss the single most important message in the book!"

I believe this advice could indeed apply to every aspect of our lives.
